Below is a recipe for Laundry Detergent using your homemade bar soap.
We would love for you to share your recipes for homemade cleaners and natural household solutions.
Laundry Detergent Recipe
Ingredients:
1 Cup Borax
1 Cup Washing Soda
2 large bars or 4 small bars homemade soap, grated.
This should equal about 1½ cups.
Instructions:
Heat 2 quarts water over low heat and mix in grated soap. Stir until fully melted.
Pour into 5 gallon bucket and mix in the Borax and Washing Soda. Mix until the powders are fully dissolved. Add in additional warm water until the bucket is about ¾ full, leaving room to stir. Stir until fully mixed and then cover with lid.
The mixture will gel and need to be stirred before each use. Use ½ cup to 1 Cup per load. Experiment for desired results.
You can also add 20-30 drops of your favorite essential oil.
Wow ... it is very interesting idea. Detergent is a very important need for laundry. I can not wait to try your recipe. I guess this can save costs should I spend on laundry. Thanks for sharing
