Homemade Laundry Detergent Recipe

2 Bars (or enough for 2 Cups) Fels-Naptha, Castile Soap, or homemade soap - Grated
2 Cups Washing Soda (Arm & Hammer)
2 Cups Borax (20 Mule-Team)
5 Gallon Bucket w/ lid
5 gallons water (approx)

Grate soap with a cheese grater or chop in a food processor until fine and heat in large sauce pan with water (enough to cover grated soap)

When soap has melted add to 5 gallon bucket with lid and add about 2 gallons warm water. Add Washing Soda and Borax and stir until well mixed. Then fill the bucket to about ¾ full and stir until well mixed.
